Spring Step

April 29, 2013

I've been dying to break out my new tangerine skinnies.  And what better opportunity than in this recent warm(er) weather we've been having - which is sure to put a spring in anyones step.   These jeans pair well with nude booties + purse, a white tee and colorful jewelry.   What do you think?

CPH Chambray

[Chambray: Madewell]  [Jeans: J.Brand]  [Boots: Sam Edelman]  [Purse: Vince Camuto, similar here]

While in Copenhagen, I was constantly defaulting to my riding boots + skinny jeans.  With all the biking + walking, comfort was - without a doubt - a must.   When I dress for comfort, I like to maintain my style at the same time.  So pairing black skinnies + riding boots with this boyfriend Chambray + a hair turband was a natural choice.

Norway (in a Nutshell)

April 22, 2013

During my European holiday, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit the breathtaking country of Norway (also the land of my heritage).  These few pictures are my attempt in giving you a glimpse of just how amazing our visit was. During our stay in the West Coast city of Bergen, we took an all day tour (train-bus-boat-railway-train) of The Naeroyfjord, Norway's longest, narrowest + deepest fjord.  Fjords are long, narrow inlets of sea bordered by steep sides, typically formed from due to glacial activity - as you can probably tell from the pictures, they were truly amazing.  Of course, we were able to carve out some time for city-exploring + shopping.  Our stay was chilly, expensive (apparently Norway is one of the most expensive countries in the world ~ $45 for a pizza and $17 for a draft beer) but absolutely beautiful!  A once in a lifetime experience + worth every penny.

Copenhagen Culture

April 18, 2013

Things have been pretty busy back in Boston, but I decided it was better late than never to share some of my favorite shots from my recent trip to Scandinavia....   When we decided it was time for a getaway, Copenhagen was an obvious choice.  My friends and I have all studied abroad but our travel had been mostly limited to South-Western Europe.  So with a good friend from college currently living + working in Copenhagen, we jumped at the opportunity to cross the Atlantic and immerse ourselves into a new European culture.  With his busy work schedule, we were thankful to spend lots more time with him than anticipated, reminiscing, catching up + seeing his favorite parts of the city.  Aside from visiting our friend, we did a lot of typical touristy-sightseeing, biking like the locals, canal touring, architecture-admiring, and of course, eating (and maybe some drinking).  The City was so quaint + charming, yet a cosmopolitan center of culture, at the same time, with both historic + modern architecture for us to admire.  We spent many days just getting lost in the cobble stone streets (and we probably could have spent another week doing just the same.)  We were also able to hop on a half hour train across the Øresund (the strait in the Baltic Sea, separating Denmark from Sweden) and explore the port city of Malmö, Sweden.  With the bright colors of all the facades + storefronts, you'd never guess the temperatures were in the 30s and low 40s in this beautiful, capital city of Copenhagen.  At least we were lucky to have the sun on our side most days.  The trip was amazing, a once in a lifetime adventure.  Enjoy.
