Take Your Tunic From Day to Night

Long, oversized tunics have been my go-to lately.  Maybe its the long length, but I love the idea of a patterned top that can work both during the day and at night.  Are you looking for ways to take your look from daytime to night?  My two favorite ways are to elevate and accessorize.  Swap the flats for some heeled booties or your favorite pumps, and trade in the tote bag for a feminine clutch...  Or if the night air is too much to bare, use your scarf as a shall and add a statement necklace around your neck.

Citron Central

October 28, 2014

There is something elegant about the midi skirt - longer than your typical pencil skirt length, but not as long as a maxi, showing just the right amount of calf.  The pictures don't actually do this skirt justice (shame on me).  The color is vibrant citron and the texture is oh-so-silky.

I kept this look basic with a simple (and inexpensive) ribbed high-neck sweater, black leather pumps and minimal accessories.  See below for similar options..

This blouse blows me away.  I snagged it on the BCBG 50% off rack at Lord & Taylor a few weeks ago and have already worn it twice (and probably a 3rd time this week).  What's better than a timeless, crisp white blouse with some flare + fun in the back?

Check out other great BCBG sales items at L&T here.

Burnts + Blacks

September 10, 2014

From the color to the length, these shorts lend themselves to being the perfect pair for Fall.

I didn't expect I would get as much wear out of these shorts as I actually do.  They are my go-to for a quick run to the mall, dinner dates, ever casual Fridays at work.  I'm glad I snagged them when I did.  Happy Hump Day... {HUMP DAY!}

OUTFIT DETAILS:

Gingham Goes Floral

August 1, 2014

Oh, the joys of Friday...  Even though I have to work all weekend (Sox are home and Yanks are in town), I have no other major plans, except for a long run sometime tomorrow.  Sometimes the days // weekends are just so damn-jam packed, it's nice to just sit back + relax.  I have some busy weekends coming up in August so I should enjoy this "down" time while I can, right?  That's what I'm telling myself anyways.

Back to the outfit, I ended up purchasing this skirt on major sale at L&T (obvs).  I love the print mixing happening, even though I can't take credit since I didn't design the skirt.  My goal in life (or at least in my wardrobe) is to experiment more with different patterns + prints.  {I started to look for some separates in my closet that may help get my creative juices flowing, see here.}  I can do it, just gotta stay confident.  Have a fabulous weekend!

OUTFIT DETAILS

{ skirt: Lord & Taylor 424 Fifth }  { top: Lord & Taylor Split Neck Blouse (I just purchased it in black, too) }  { heels: French Connection Ellis D'Orsay, black option here }  { purse: Kate Spade Charlotte Street Sylvie, more colors here, similar style here }  { shades: Ray-Ban Aviators }  { necklace: J.Crew Factory, old but so many great options here
