Fall Floral Top

August 25, 2016

I'm simply loving this sexy little top as Summer to Fall transition piece.  I wore this for a dinner date, opting for camel colored accessories.  But, I think it would pair wonderfully with black pumps, jeans and a black leather jacket, for more of a edgy look.  Or you can keep it light, pairing it with a denim jacket and white skinny jeans. Either way, at only $34, you can't go wrong!

Have a great rest of the week!                                                                                                                                                    xo

I'm recovering from a bad sunburn (if you couldn't tell from the pictures).  I felt the need to cover up my red, burnt skin, while still wanting to be comfortable in the warm temps.  So I opted for these loose girlfriend jeans from GAP and a TopShop tee.  I certainly kept cool with the light colors, while not feeling too restricted...  Shop my look below.

A big shoutout and thanks to Daniel Wellington for this classic timepiece!  I had been dying to get my hands on this gorgeous Rose Gold Sheffield.  If you haven't heard of DW, their watches are versatile, detail oriented and timeless.  They offer a variety of watch styles and strap options, from traditional leather to colorful nylon.  You're even able to change out your watch strap so that your piece becomes unique to your liking for years to come!

For a limited time my readers can receive 15% a watch of your choice at DanielWellington.com with code 'KRISTYLYONS'.  PS - I'm loving this Dapper piece!

Have a great week!

I wore this dress on a lunch date at Boston Burger Company in Davis Square with my friend Danielle last weekend.  I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant to make the purchase since this baby was only $12.  But then I thought, what the heck?  It is only $12.  I'm happy with my purchase: great length, good fit, though the shipping did take longer than I would have liked.  It does require ironing, but I'm fine with it... I mean what doesn't after a few hours of sitting?   Plus, I love the versatility of it.  I opted to go for a more casual look, but you could easily pair it was some pumps and a statement necklace for date night.  Or dress it down even more with some casual kicks, a denim jacket and a baseball hat.

Have a great week!

Sharing some snapshots into my recent weekend in Brooklyn, visiting my college roommate, Bridget, and friends Sam, Taylor and Agne.  The last time I visited was back in 2013 when the ole RWU crew ran the Brooklyn half (#RWUrunsBrooklyn).  After a late arrival Friday night, we snacked, sipped prosecco, watched the Olympic opening ceremony and proceeded to chat until 3am -- lots to catch up on!

Saturday was spent in Manhattan, walking the High Line (see more of my pictures from the High Line in this post) then touring Bridget's latest project -- a 50+ story high rise currently being built over the existing and fully functioning Hudson Rail Yards, its pretty amazing.  Bridget is a project manager for a large construction and development company -- you can read more about the awesome project here.

Then we headed downtown to grab lunch at Brookfield Place before heading across the street to see Calatrava's design for the new transportation hub at ground zero.  (Last time I visited Calatrava's work was during our trip to Copenhagen, via a day trip Sweden).  Next, we had to stop and see the awe inspiring 9-11 Memorial.  Finally, we walked down along the Hudson to Pier A for an afternoon beer (and shelter from the rain showers), before jumping on the subway back to Brooklyn for dinner and drinks!  After a quick breakfast and stroll around the neighborhood, I headed out early Sunday...

If you haven't heard of or been to the High Line, I highly recommend a visit during your next trip to NYC.  Formerly an elevated industrial rail line, the High Line was left abandoned in the 1980s.  After years of planning, the High Line was given to the City of New York and plans were put in motion to transform the rails into an elevated public park.  The last time I visited the High Line was at least 5 years ago when only 1 (or 2) of the 3 phases were complete.  Now, the entire park is open to the public, all 1.45 miles.  I couldn't get over how clean, plush and well designed the space has become, not to mention the views of Manhattan are pretty spectacular!
