Embroidered Edge

July 30, 2014

I was getting tired of wearing a black tee and basic boyfriend shorts all. the. time.  So when I stumbled upon these destroyed boyfriend shorts with orange detailing (+ I just happened to be wearing these orange sandals), I just couldn't resist.  Not only were the already marked down, they were an additional 25% off.  Sometimes you just can't beat the sale racks at L&T.

These shorts are cute, right?  Unfortunately, they're sold out online, but you can shop similar ones here

Summer Sunset

July 28, 2014

I wore this look on Friday night to a Retirement Party for a co-worker. The party was amazing with delicious food, great company + beautiful views of Boston Harbor at sunset. The super comfortable summer dress transitioned well from day to night {only a few minor wrinkles}, with a quick swap of my nude flats for these pointy toed pumps, and switching my handbag to this fur clutch.  I also designed the invitations for the Party.  What do you think?

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend.  I certainly did.  It consisted of a lot of doing nothing, working on my blog {my html-ing skills are really improving}, laundry, catching up on the RHONY + SVU during a rainy Sunday afternoon.  But, Sunday night finished perfectly with champagne cosmos, a blue crab martini + fresh fish tacos at one of my favorite seafood restaurants.  Here's to a stylish {quick} work week.

Denim + Dots

July 25, 2014

It goes without saying {but I'll say it anyways}... a classic denim jacket never goes out of style.  Lets discuss...

It can be worn all very round: a cool fall afternoon watching football, a casual spring bridal shower or a summer bonfire at the beach.  The denim jacket goes with everything: a romper, a basic white tee, a button down, a crop top, a leather skirt, or even denim jeans {a little denim-on-demin action, just make sure the shades aren't competing with one + other}.. the possibilities are endless.  How will you wear yours?  Happy Styling.

Monkey Mania

July 24, 2014

Yes, there are monkeys on my dress.   Cute, right?  To be honest, I didn't actually think there were monkeys on the dress until I took it out of the package and examined it first hand.  Don't ask how I didn't realize sooner.  I have to admit, the love how the monkeys create an interesting graphic pattern on the dresses without being so obvious.

Hope you have some great plans for the weekend.  Happy Styling.

A Baseball Themed Bridal Shower

July 23, 2014

We hosted my sister's Bridal Shower at Fenway Park last weekend.  We took the baseball theme to a literal {yet classy} level.  And let me just tell you, it was ALL about the details: from the Kerry & Jeff Cracker Jacks favors to the roasted peanut centerpieces, the custom napkins to the featured "something new" + "something blue" cocktails, the New England lobstah rolls to the {custom/homemade} ticket-like invitations, and we can't forget the special, sentimental venue in + of itself.  My sister was truly blown away.   The day was a total success, and it wouldn't have been complete without the hard work of the fabulous bridesmaids, my mom + my dad.  Cheers.

Destroyed Denim

July 22, 2014

Today I'm sharing 1 OUTFIT // 2 WAYS: dressed up + dressed down.  Versatility is key.  Don't be afraid to "pretty" up some destroyed denim with fancy heels + a structured tote.  The dressed up look would be perfect for dinner with the girls or even date night.  For a more casual look, pair the ripped jeans with some fun costume jewelry colorful sandals: perfect for running errand.  However, all white-on-white look can leave you wanting a bit more, so have fun with it + add pops of color in all your accessories.

For me, I'm way more likely to spend money on ripped/destroyed denim when they're on sale.  Luckily, I scored these white sexy boyfriend jeans at GAP for less than $20.  They're no longer available online, but try searching in store.  That's how I found mine.  Happy Styling.

OUTFIT DETAILS

Lime + Leather

July 21, 2014

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen this picture.  I have been planning/ dreaming of this outfit for quite some time now.  The clean, simple lines of this blouse pair perfectly with the subtle laser-cut floral details of these faux leather shorts.  As for accessories, I kept it pretty minimal with gold accents + a leopard print clutch, but you could easily wear silver tones and a bright pink handbag... I'm thinking I'll wear this blouse next with a bright crossbody + white broken-in boyfriend jeans?  The options are {almost} endless.  Happy Styling.
