Last night, I celebrated with my best friend on her recent engagement. I'm so happy for her + her husband-to-be. Plus, I was very excited to wear my new polka-dot skirt (although I think I picked the coldest day of the week). Happy Friday!
PS - I've been having fun posting on Instagram lately.. You can follow me here
I hope everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving Holiday - I sure did. The Black Friday shopping tradition lived on. My mother, sister, friend Beth + I shopped from 4:30am to 1:30pm. Needless to say, it was a long morning/afternoon, but it was a blast. I think I am still recovering. Here is a peek at one of my weekend looks. Remember this leather sleeved jacket (first seen here)??
A guy friend/co-worker complimented (I think, complimented) my outfit today, and said this dress was very "retro, yet fashion-forward" - an interesting combination and not even close to the look I thought I was going for. I guess I can see what he means: the dress does give off a Marsha Brady, circa 1970's vibe. Anyways, it was a funny moment. I love hearing what guys have to say about style + fashion: its never what I expect. What do you think of this look?
Kate Spade's "Guide to Living Colorfully" is a set of six books, each filled with ideas + inspiration for celebrating, decorating, charming, dressing, thinking and traveling colorfully. Unfortunately, the book is currently sold out, but katespade.com has tons of other stylish, Holiday gifts ideas for under $40, like this Live Colorfully stationery set.
I styled this casual Kate Spade tee with an oxford button down, boyfriend jeans and a pink sweater. Oh, and my favorite accessory; my adorable (and colorful) puppy, Harry.
I've always loved leopard, zebra + other animal prints. But lately, I've been obsessing over incorporating these prints into my wardrobe. These snow leopard loafs are surprisingly 'neutral' and go with basic pieces, like black skinnies and this beige sweater. (Also, the fur collar on the sweater is removable, so its basically like having two sweaters in one.) Hope you had a great weekend.
My nail color inspired this outfit: Red Rendezvous. Colored pants are so hot right now. I paired red skinnies with leopard flats, a black peplum shirt and gold accessories. What color are your favorite skinnies?
Yes, the snow has fallen here in the Northeast. The ground was slick, the air was cold, and I was not prepared for the first snowfall this morning. As much as I love the snow + cold weather, I am not ready to say goodbye to the beautiful Fall weather we've been having. Anyways, the snow had me thinking about some of my favorite, chic and sleek cold weather accessories. My wellies and leather boots are essential. On a rainy or snowy day, I often wear my Wellies to work and slip on my dressy shoes once I'm in the office. I love bright, patterned scarfs, which add pop to any outfit, and I love my "tech" gloves which have a small touch screen compatible fabric on the index finger and thumb, which means I never have to put my beloved iPhone away. But my favorite cold weather accessories are my fur vests, which are easy to wear and look great over a blazer, blouse or even a long sleeve t-shirt (for warmer days). Thanks for reading. Stay warm.
I spent the weekend in the beautiful Berkshires with my beautiful friends. These few snap shots sum up a weekend full of museums + hikes, chips + salsa, hot tubs + bonfires, beers + bubbly, breakfast in bed, and lots of laughs. Enjoy and thanks for reading,
