I'm all about using what you already have for a Halloween Costume...

Happy Halloween Everyone!  For today I "threw" together a Bank Robber costume with primarily pieces that were already in my closet.  Lets discuss: the jeans, t-shirt, sneaks, beanie and tote were items that I already owned.  I made a quick run to target (note to self: do NOT go to Target, Walmart, Party City, etc on Halloween Eve), and purchased a men's black zipper down sweatshirt and finger-less gloves.  The costume section was totally picked over, with barely nothing left for a mask option, so I improvised.  I purchased black decorative gauze.  When I returned home, I folded the gauze to be about 4 layers thick, cut it into a long strip (to fit around my head).  I used bobby pins to hold it in place, took it off and cut simple holes for my eyes.  It worked pretty well, except for the fact that tiny pieces of  gauze keep getting into my eyes.  Oh well.

dirt dessert, halloween dessert,

Oh, I also made these "dirt" desserts for a party later tonight: chocolate pudding, cool whip, oreos, gummy worms sandwich cookies.  Easy-peasy, and cute, right?

Citron Central

October 28, 2014

There is something elegant about the midi skirt - longer than your typical pencil skirt length, but not as long as a maxi, showing just the right amount of calf.  The pictures don't actually do this skirt justice (shame on me).  The color is vibrant citron and the texture is oh-so-silky.

I kept this look basic with a simple (and inexpensive) ribbed high-neck sweater, black leather pumps and minimal accessories.  See below for similar options..

Colorblock Crepe

October 24, 2014

What could be more comfortable than an oversized tunic + cute booties for casual Friday at work? Especially after indulging on buffalo chicken nachos + beer last night.

To be honest, I didn't really know what a "crepe" style top was until now.  Basically, crepe means anything that is draped or "loose" fitting of a light material.  So pretty much all my closet favorites.  Not to be confused with the cookery crepe, which is also light and thin, but usually filled with bananas + nutella, or stawberries + cream.  Wow, I'm hungry.  Time for lunch....

Also if you can't tell from the pictures, this blouse has 3 colors: blush in the front, beige in the back and green sleeves.  Don't be afraid to add another color to the mix.  Like I did with the grey booties - they help tie together the silver chain necklace + side zipper hardware on the blouse.  All and all, a nice balance.  Have a fabulous weekend!

Today I'm sharing this look I wore to Kerry's Rehearsal Dinner last Thursday night.  I bought this exact same jumpsuit in white this past spring, but never wore it.  So when looking for something to wear to the Rehearsal Dinner, I purchased the same thing in Black.   I'll be sharing more pictures and graphics from the wedding later this week.  Stay tuned...
