Back to School

I love back to school shopping.  And even though I'm not in school (far removed for that matter), I love any excuse to hit the mall (or the web) in search of the perfect fall staples.  Expect to see lots of flares, fringe, burgundy and 70's inspired pieces this Fall.  Happy Shopping!

Botanical Clover Canyon

I was a bit apprehensive to wear this cut-out Clover Canyon dress over the past weekend to a Bridal Shower, afraid I'd be showing too much skin.  But after some convincing by my mom and sis, I wore it and I'm glad I did.  I paired her with my favorite leopard clutch (for some fun pattern mixing), simple gold jewelry and of course, my go-to bright pink aviators.  I'm loving the perfect balance of flirty, sexy and girly that this dress embodies.  Plus, the neoprene fabric allows me to feel tucked and secured in all the right places.  And because of the heavier weight to the dress, I don't have to worry about her being see-through or feeling like I'm wearing nothing at all.  The dress is perfect for a day-time lunch, weekend brunch or bridal shower. 

This number had been on my wish/watch list for a quite a while, and I finally snagged it on sale at Bloomingdales.  Unfortunately, it is now sold out but the same botanical print (exclusive to Bloomingdales) is also available as a chemise, crop top, robe and pajama set.  (shop some similar prints below)

The Nordstrom Anniversary sales serves up some pretty great finds (see my picks here).  This top is another one of my favorites, for both the great price point and the color.  I'm always a fan of tunic style tops -- for both length + loose fit -- and this piece certainly fits the bill.  It was quick to sell out so be sure to check out some other great tunic options I've linked up below.  Thanks for stopping by.

Fun in Flares

I love wearing flares from time-to-time (see here + here).  My only caveat being they have to be paired with heels.  Maybe it's because the flares in my closet are too long, or because I like the way the added height elongates my legs.  Either way, flares are making a huge comeback (see white destroyed, light wash and wide hem).   Better get some before they go back out of style ;)

Palm & Acai

This TopShop palm shift dress just screams summertime.  I've worn it both dressed up with heels and a statement necklace, and dressed down with sneaks or sandals (as seen here).  This print is also available in jumpsuit version.  The dress is quick to sell out so check out this similar maxi version or this unique red palm number.   Oh, and this Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac with rose gold hardware is finally back in stock, or check out the black and rose gold option.

Meanwhile, I tried my first acai bowl.  I had to see what all the fuss was about.  Honestly, I didn't love it.  I'm pretty sure it was made with sweet fruit juice and I've heard of others made with almond milk, which is what I was looking for.  If you have any suggestions in the Boston area, please share!
