the New Neutral

August 14, 2014

They say Leopard is the new neutral.  So spice your Leopard up a bit, try adding a striped blouse or tee, or even a printed top with a similar color pattern.   You could even add some striped pumps and a neon sleeveless blouse, like this one.  Happy Styling.

Birthday Best

March 4, 2014
[ skirt: Sugarlips ]  [ blouse: bcbgeneration old, similar ]  [ clutch: Clare Vivier ]  [ heels: bcbgeneration via T.J.Maxx ]

It's my birthday and I'll wear what I want to... wear what I want to....
This skirt maybe should have waited another month or so until Spring, but I couldn't resist.  Can you blame me?  It is totally versatile...  The black lines, yet bright colors make a perfect spring transition.  Come Summer, I'll be skipping the tights + trading the blouse for a black tank or this crop top [which I obviously bought as a reminder to do more crunches].  Plus, these shoes!  I had been craving a pair of black pumps with an ankle strap.  I had been eyeing these but couldn't stomach the price tag.  So when I spotted this pair at TJ's, I just couldn't resist.  Try this other budget friendly pair here.  Happy Tuesday!

Candy Craze

March 3, 2014
[ jeans: Hudson ]  [ t-shirt: T.J.Maxx ]  [  necklace: Cara via T.J.Maxx, similar here + here ]
[ pumps: Lord & Taylor, similar but love these ]  [ purse: Kate Spade, similar ]
[ shades: Ray Ban ]  [ lips: MAC "flat out fabulous" ]

Doesn't a colorful necklace just make you happier?  It reminds me of a candy shoppe.  Add a pink purse, bright lips and some leopard pumps, it ought to be a good bright day.  Happy Monday.

Light on Leopard

August 12, 2013
[ blouse: Kenar via Marshalls ]  [ shorts: jCrew factory ]  [purse: Kate Spade ]  [ shades: Burberry ]  [ shoes: Zara ]

It's no secret, I love animal print: zebra, leopard, cheetah, tiger, snow leopard, cow... yes, all of the above.  [ I'm not huge a fan of eating cows but I do love those big black spots. ]  Anyways, I couldn't pass up this light leopard print blouse I snagged at Marshalls (or 'shalls as I like to say).  I wore this number with dress pants for work + then opted for some white shorts for dinner with a friend.  Hope its a good one...

Chambord on Chambray

March 26, 2013

I had been searching for the perfect Chambray + within a few days, I found not one, but two.  The darker of the two (freepeople), has awesome black velvet detailing and a worn, distressed look on the sleeves.  It pairs perfectly with my black, velvet skinnies, textured/animal print heels and a chambord purse (gotta love that pop of color - come on Spring!)  Stay tuned to see how I'll style the other 'perfect' Chambray.

Rosetted Red

February 25, 2013

Today's post is a short one.  But, I have to say, I love the way this bright, red blazer pops against the rosetted black + white spotted blouse in this wooded setting.  What do you think of this look?

Leopard Loafs

November 18, 2012

I've always loved leopard, zebra + other animal prints.  But lately, I've been obsessing over incorporating these prints into my wardrobe.  These snow leopard loafs are surprisingly 'neutral' and go with basic pieces, like black skinnies and this beige sweater.  (Also, the fur collar on the sweater is removable, so its basically like having two sweaters in one.)  Hope you had a great weekend.

Red Rendezvous

November 12, 2012

My nail color inspired this outfit: Red Rendezvous.  Colored pants are so hot right now.  I paired red skinnies with leopard flats, a black peplum shirt and gold accessories.  What color are your favorite skinnies?

Zakim in Zebra

October 26, 2012

There may not be tons to do in the Navy Yard, but one benefit of working here has to be the unexpected views of city landmarks; including the Zakim Bridge (above).  Each turn of a corner offers a different view of Boston’s history.  I especially love the cobblestone streets + vibrant foliage, which served as an effortless setting for some quick photos this afternoon.  Thanks to my co-worker Christine for snapping these shots!

Thanks for reading,
