Hope you're having a fabulous 4th of July weekend!  I wore this dress to lunch with my mom and sis at Pier 6 in the Navy Yard this past Friday.  The food was just okay but the views of Boston are spectacular.  I hear they have an amazing weekend Brunch that I'm dying to try.  It was a great way to kick off the Holiday weekend.

How perfect is this dress for a festive 4th of July party?  Admittedly, it may be too dressy for your traditional backyard BBQ, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be perfect for a night out in the town or even a more formal 4th dinner party.  Hope you have a great long weekend!

Check out my other post, recapping my favorite 4th looks.

Merry Christmas Eve!  I thought I would share one more cute look before the Holidays.

Fairisle prints are everywhere these days.  So when I saw this gorgeous navy sweater at the Loft, with hints of pink and orange, I knew I had to have it.  It's my first fairisle, and so pretty, right?  There are limited quantities/sizes available online, so swing by your local Loft store to see what they have in stock.  (PS - everything is pretty much on sale right now!)  It might make the perfect last minute gift for yourself.  Be sure to scroll the banner below and shop my other fairisle favorites.  Happy Shopping!

Guess what!  This dress comes in burgundy!   I'm thinking it would be pretty much perfect for your next holiday soiree.  And at only $52, you can't go wrong.  Simply throw a fur vest or a festive cape over the dress - like this plaid cape or this plaid fringe number - and you're set!   I'd even opt for some cute high heeled leather or suede booties - like these babies - to finish the look.  Happy Styling!

Hey Everyone!  Today I'm co-hosting a Linkup called Mix It Mondays.  The theme?  Show how you remixed something in your wardrobe!  It can literally be anything.  This was the perfect opportunity for me to share how I remixed these shorts from a few months back.  If you remember back to these posts here and here, I shared how to transition these silky/linen babies from summer to fall.  Now, I want to show you that you can wear shorts, skirts or even skorts, through the winter months just by finding the right accessories.  I opted for this textured sweater, tights and super cute heels (also new and also on sale!).  And though depending on where you live shorts may not be available in stores, many great online retailers still have great selections:  ASOS, the Loft, Nordstrom, etc.  These red silk shorts would be perfect for Holiday Parties!

What do you think about how I remixed these shorts?

Happy Halloween

I'm all about using what you already have for a Halloween Costume...

halloween 2014, bank robber costume, bandit costume, robber costume, halloween, inexpensive halloween costume, inexpensive target costumes

Happy Halloween Everyone!  For today I "threw" together a Bank Robber costume with primarily pieces that were already in my closet.  Lets discuss: the jeans, t-shirt, sneaks, beanie and tote were items that I already owned.  I made a quick run to target (note to self: do NOT go to Target, Walmart, Party City, etc on Halloween Eve), and purchased a men's black zipper down sweatshirt and finger-less gloves.  The costume section was totally picked over, with barely nothing left for a mask option, so I improvised.  I purchased black decorative gauze.  When I returned home, I folded the gauze to be about 4 layers thick, cut it into a long strip (to fit around my head).  I used bobby pins to hold it in place, took it off and cut simple holes for my eyes.  It worked pretty well, except for the fact that tiny pieces of  gauze keep getting into my eyes.  Oh well.

dirt dessert, halloween dessert,

Oh, I also made these "dirt" desserts for a party later tonight: chocolate pudding, cool whip, oreos, gummy worms + sandwich cookies.  Easy-peasy, and cute, right?
