Bell Sleeve Belle

Navy is the new Black

So lets back up a couple weeks...  I was at Whole Foods, getting lunch.  I saw a woman in a sophisticated navy suit with a off-white cami underneath.  She looked effortlessly chic, and I really appreciated that the suit was navy and not black!  I was inspired and suddenly on the hunt for the perfect navy pants (I don't regularly wear suits to work so I opted for just pants).  Of course, the Loft had several navy pairs to choose from.  I ended up with this pair -- currently 40% off.  (Can I just say the Loft's 'Julie' is my new favorite fit, I used to be a 'Marissa' girl... )  So then, last weekend I ran into L&T just to buy some cosmetics and I ended up with this vest.  I was naturally tempted to buy it in black, you know my go-to color.  But I decided to be wild, branch out and try something new: this soft baby blue.  Plus, I loved the navy lining and just knew I had to pair it with my new navy dress pants.    

I'm was so excited when I recently found this new line - H Halston - at Lord & Taylor!  Some Most of the pieces were screaming my name, like this suede shift dress and this v-neck dress.. (I've shared my other favorite picks below.)   I can't wait to shop the collection a bit more.  

I hope you can appreciate that this 'work-ready' looks doesn't involve any black.  Maybe navy is new black?   Nah, not yet....

The Nordstrom Anniversary sales serves up some pretty great finds (see my picks here).  This top is another one of my favorites, for both the great price point and the color.  I'm always a fan of tunic style tops -- for both length + loose fit -- and this piece certainly fits the bill.  It was quick to sell out so be sure to check out some other great tunic options I've linked up below.  Thanks for stopping by.

Kicking off the week with about 500 shades of blue, my favorite shade: cobalt (see here, here & here).  I wore this outfit recently to my cousin's baby shower to celebrate their new baby boy bundle of joy...  I thought the blue hues were very fitting.
