I started my new job 4 weeks ago now. I have to admit the first few weeks were tough. I found myself exhausted half way through the work week, which was totally unlike me. My eyes were burning and that exhausted feeling just consumed me. Who knows if the adjustment of my new schedule and increased screen time were to blame. Admittedly, I spend a good portion of my days 'in the glow', between Instagram and Facebook, checking emails and blogging at home... But in this digital age we live, theres really no avoiding it.
The timing couldn't have been more perfect whenPixel Eyewear reached out and asked me to try their glasses. If you haven't heard of Pixel Eyewear, they've been featured in Vogue and Inc.com. The lens are designed with a slightly yellow tint which helps to block some of the strong, artificial blue lights gleaming from computer and device screens that our eyes aren't really meant to handle. Their frames are super stylish, and available at a great price point! I knew it could only help my tired eye situation. I picked the Ventus and Omni styles, and they've been fantastic. Plus, it's fun to wear glasses without a prescription :) I try to wear my Pixels at least a few hours a day while I'm at my computer or on my iPad. I've found I'm less tired at that mid-afternoon slump. I've also tried to make other adjustments like going to bed earlier (I'm a night owl), drinking less coffee and exercising at least 4-5 days a week.

Had a great Birthday weekend! Dinner with friends Friday night, lunch with my bestie Saturday, where we enjoyed this beautiful dessert above, courtesy of my favorite bartender, followed by dinner Saturday night at my favorite Mexican restaurant (Agave in Newburyport), and finally lunch my mom Sunday (wearing the outfit above). A food and fun-filled weekend for sure. (Somewhere in all this I managed to squeeze in a much needed 6 mile run and gym-sesh)
I'm rounding out the celebrations tonight over Icelandic cocktails with Girlfriends.... Did I mention I'm going to Iceland in April? So when we found out this weekend in Boston was Taste of Iceland, we knew we had to check out one of the events. More on my upcoming trip later.

Today, I'm co-hosting a pretty fabulous Link Up with Lauren of Style Elixirand Michelle from Michelle's Paige. In honor so, I decided to share a pretty fabulous Camel Duster Coat. I'd been searching for the perfect Camel coat, and after many, many pinterest searches, I found this one on Forever21.com. To my dismay, it was sold out online! But to my surprise, I randomly stumbled upon it in store at my local mall. It surely is a closet staple that every girl should have. (#getitgurl and join the link up below!)
Happy Friday! I'm so glad the weekend is finally upon us. I have some final Christmas presents to find this weekend, then my shopping will be officially done. Can you believe Christmas is less than a week away? Have a fabulous weekend! Don't forget to follow along via Instagram!
I don't have many rules when it comes to dressing...
Except for one. If you're wearing something that shows off the legs, wear something more conservative on the top (i.e. no crop tops and/or minimal cleavage). This works both ways. If your wearing a low cut top, a slim tank or a crop top, don't show too much leg (i.e. swap the mini skirt for a midi skirt). Balance it out. Don't give it all away, you know?
I was a bit apprehensive to wear over-the-knees boots. I wanted to remain classy without giving off any trashy vibes, especially since these boots have a high heel. And although I'm not wearing a skirt or showing much skin, this look is all about the legs, creating a sexy, curvy silhouette. So I followed my rule and paired the boots with skinny jeans (tucked into my socks so they don't ride up) and a super comfy, over-sized sweater. Pretty simple, while remaining balanced + on trend at the same time.
So if you're debating making the purchase of some killer over-the-knee boots, get 'em gurl! You will rock them. I'll be sharing more ways to style these over-the-knee boots so check back next week.
